Summary:

Hazel Grace Lancaster one of the main characters in this book Fault in our stars is dealing with a tragedy what changes her life completely.  She is 16 years old and was diagnosed with lung cancer.  Her parents not knowing how to cope with the tragedy send her to support groups and there she meets a 17-year old boy named Augustus Waters.  Hazel struggles with her upcoming death as well as her strong feelings towards Augustus.  Hazel and Augusts mutual feelings are put to the test when Hazels discovers the devastating news of Augustus cancer.  Hazel at her young age deals with death when Augustus dies and she is left alone.  Not knowing how to deal with death she comes to the conclusion to live life to the fullest and accept her future.

Strengths:

This book recommended for grades 9 and up.  The similarities between the main characters tragedies are something relatable to many people that might be dealing with death.  This book fits with the emotional developmental criteria because it is about two teenagers struggling with how to control their emotional feelings towards each other.
